History of the Institute

Institute of Economics and Management as a structural subdivision of V.I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University was founded on May 22, 2015 in accordance with Vernadsky CFU Rector’s Order from May 22, 2015 and pursuant to the Order of the Russian Federation Government from August 4, 2014. It consisted of:

  • Higher School of Economics and Business.
  • Faculty of Economics of the Academy of Bioresources and Nature Management.
  • Faculty of Economics and Management of the Academy of Construction and Architecture.
  • Faculty of Economics as well as Faculty of Management of the Taurida Academy.

in the following degrees:

  • Bachelor’s degree;
  • Master’s degree;
  • Postgraduate degree.

Training at the Institute is carried out in Russian Medium. Starting 2018-2019 academic year the main vocational educational program of higher education in the field of study 38.04.01 “Economics” of specialty “International Economics and Trade Policy” got certified for English-medium teaching. This implies that foreign citizens may get an education on the indicated programme through English Medium.
The Institute conducts scientific researches on the actual directions of socio-economic development, as of the Crimean region so the world economy as a whole.

Academic Life

Specialization training in all the Chairs is carried out by the academic staff of the Institute that consists of about 300 experts; more than 200 of them are professors and assistant professors.

There is all the necessary equipment for the execution of educational activities in the Institute, in particular: furniture, technical means of teaching, screens, interactive boards, stationary and portable multimedia and projection equipment, high-speed unlimited Internet connection, modern computer equipment.

The Department of Economics Literature of the Scientific Library (structural subdivision) of Vernadsky CFU operates at the Institute. The department provides access to educational, methodological and scientific literature, modern professional databases and information reference systems, as well as provides information services to students, graduate students, scientific and pedagogical staff of the Institute in accordance with their information requests.

Training at the institute is conducted in accordance with advanced scientific achievements. Professional academic staff is always ready to provide comprehensive, in-depth training to students. Thousands of competent and competitive specialists of different directions have graduated from the educational establishment. Future financiers, bankers, economists, brokers, personnel auditors, heads of companies and enterprises, managers, merchandisers, administrators, marketers, as well as specialists of state and municipal authorities are trained at the Institute.

The student life at the Institute is full of bright events, chair and interuniversity scientific programs, seminars and conferences.

International Students

There are about 5000 students training at the Institute. The number of students includes not only the Crimean people but residents of different cities of Russia and foreign students.

The Institute has a wide experience in training students from various countries, in particular, Ukraine, Armenia, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Georgia, China, Latvia, Lithuania and Turkey. With that, there’s a wide experience of mutual training of students with the foreign partner tertiary institutions from France, Italy, Great Britain, Norway, Turkey, Poland and China.


Out-of-town students are accommodated in hostels of Vernadsky CFU. Hostels are located in campus in immediate affinity to the main administrative building of Vernadsky CFU, The hostels are located in the vicinity to the busy public transport routes that allows reaching the training campuses as well as any part of Simferopol fast and easily.

The hostel buildings are equipped with laundry rooms, kitchens with cooking facilities, reading rooms and other modern amenities
